Job summary

Cosma International in Mississauga, part of Magna, seeks an experienced press operator to manage die movements and material flow with a strong focus on safety and quality. You will pre-stage dies, load coils, and support operators while maintaining meticulous paperwork and inspections.

The ideal candidate has 3 years of experience on transfer and progressive presses, valid forklift and crane certificates, and solid English communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school/GED or grade 12 completed with experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in manufacturing with press experience including quality and safety initiatives.
• Must hold a valid counter-balance forklift certificate/OH Crane Train Certificate.
• 3 years related experience running both transfer and progressive presses and coil set up.
• Working knowledge of English (written and spoken).
• Thorough understanding of SPC and Quality Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Pre-staging dies, check fixtures and material according to die setup procedure.
• Load coils and assist operators in starting coils according to die setup procedure.
• Accurately complete all paperwork including Pre Shift Crane and Forklift Inspections.
• Assist operators in performing Pre Shift Press Safety Inspections.
• Provide relief on transfer and progressive presses for operators.
• Date stamp changes for each run.
• Adhere to Magna Employee Charter and Quality policies.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
