Job summary

Orica Limited in Kamloops, Canada, is seeking a Mobile Mixing Unit (MMU) Operator to ensure production aligns with safety procedures and unit targets. The role emphasizes pro-active teamwork, machine operation and product handling within a 14 days on / 14 days off schedule.

You will handle materials per SDS, support environmental waste minimisation, participate in safety meetings, and maintain training records while staying flexible to production needs at multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Class 3 license required.
• Mechanical aptitude with quick issue-detection and problem solving.
• Thorough and meticulous completion of regulatory paperwork.
• Reliable and dependable attitude.
• Flexible to fast production changes.
• Entry-level computer skills including Internet and Windows applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled and stored per SDS.
• Minimise environmental impact through waste minimisation and control.
• Report all unusual incidents and accidents immediately.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
• Maintain personal training against the Orica training matrix for the role.
• Perform ancillary duties including relief at other locations as instructed by supervisor.
• Assist the client in achieving targets and maintaining production.
• Notify Orica site management of any variations in product specification, appearance or performance.

About the role

The MMU (Mobile Mixing Unit) Operator must ensure production occurs on a timely basis following all safety procedures and taking a pro‑active teamwork approach focused on coordinating assigned machine operation and product handling functions.

Work Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off (NOT a Camp site, lodging not provided)

What you will be doing

• Ensures raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled and stored according to requirements of the SDS.
• Ensures minimum damage to the environment through waste minimisation and control
• Reports all Unusual Incidents and Accidents immediately
• Participates in daily Toolbox talks and Monthly Safety Meetings
• Maintains all personal training against the Orica training Matrix for your role
• Performs other ancillary duties including relief at other locations, consistent with level of competence as reasonably instructed by the supervisor
• Assists the client in achieving targets and maintaining production
• Notifies Orica site management of any variations in product specification, appearance or performance
