SLACAN Industries Inc. is Canada's largest designer and manufacturer of Poleline Hardware, which includes a full line of Transmission and Distribution products. We service the OEM market including the agricultural, mining and other industries. Our in-house processes include forgings, hot / cold stampings and weldments.

Note: This position requires employees to rotate between the day, afternoon, and night shifts

In this position you will begin assembling poleline hardware and preparing products for packaging. As you grow in the role, you'll also operate machinery such as drill presses, threading, pointing, and rounding machines, as well as various industrial presses.
Our entry‑level role starts as an Operator in the Assembly/Machine Shop Department — a great first step into our manufacturing team. Once you're part of the team, you'll have the opportunity to apply for internal postings and grow your career. You could even take on the exciting challenge of working in our forge, operating powerful industrial hammers and gaining valuable hands‑on experience.
Keeps machine bed clear of chips and cuttings.
Cleans cuttings from machine and keeps cutting heads clear.
Checks and gauges using samples or gauges, etc., reports any variations during run.
Informs Setup Man or Supervisor if machines or tools not working satisfactorily.
Reports/records time and production quantities as required into the shop floor business system.
Keeps work area clean and orderly.
All other duties as assigned.
