Job summary

Purolator in Edmonton North is seeking an Operations Support Representative to join a team that processes billing, shipping data, and reporting. The role involves handling handheld scanners, inventory, and courier documentation in a fast-paced retail center environment.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 25 hours per week with some Saturdays. The wage is $26.36 per hour, and candidates should have 3–12 months of customer service or retail experience and strong problem-solving skills.

Description

Location: Edmonton North - 17718 114 Avenue, Edmonton Alberta

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, varying shifts. 25 hours per week (some Saturdays may be required)

Wage: $26.36 per hour

The Operations Support Representative collects, enters, and tracks data used in reporting and prepares manager reports and maintains documents to ensure document accuracy and proper completion. The representative troubleshoots and maintains handheld package scanners and related inventory / equipment to ensure continuous operation.

Responsibilities
  • Enter billing and shipping data and reconciles Chain of Signature (COS) documents.
  • Prepare, collect, track, and store courier documentation
  • Collect, track, and store courier documentation in the Red Bin to ensure document quality and completeness
  • Prepare the Red bin to be sent to the Hub in the evening
  • Complete administrative functions
  • Track 407 transponder usage logs to ensure all transponders are returned
  • Prepare reports for managers to ensure accuracy
  • Test and maintain an inventory of replacement batteries for handheld package scanners Replace consumed batteries
  • Send malfunctioning scanners for repair to external repair vendor.
  • Answer emails and resolve document completion issues with Lead Hand, managers, and scanner repair vendors

  • Up-selling and cross selling Corporate Products and Services
  • Handling customer complaints and inquiries

    • Working to resolve problem shipments
    • Working to resolve equipment and technology challenges
    • Working with Head Office, local management, Drivers, warehousing staff, account managers and other Corporate partners to ensure excellence in customer service
  • Relationship Building
    • Building a positive relationship with Head Office, local management, Drivers, Warehousing staff, account managers and other Corporate Partners
    • Building a positive relationship with customers
    • Building a positive relationship with key contacts – Vendors, building tenants, etc.
  • Technology
    • Assisting customers with shipping details and account challenges
    • Loading, scanning, logging and calling resolution freight
    • Cash reconciliation including deposits, key control
  • Communication
    • Communicating in a positive manner with Head Office, local management, Drivers, warehousing staff, account managers and other Corporate partners orally and in writing
    • Listening to customers and key partners
    • Communicating to customers and key partners in a positive manner
  • Personal Responsibility and Accountability
    • Compliance to all Corporate Polices and Procedures (including uniforms)
    • Adhering to all Safety Standards
    • Being on time/attendance
    • Living the Purolator Values
    • Representing the Purolator Values to Customers and key partners and, other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • Ability to problem solve

  • Experience and adaptation to using technology

  • 3-12 Months Customer Service Experience preferred
  • 3-12 Months Retail Experience preferred
  • 3-12 Months using technology/ POS system Experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 70lbs./stand for 3 hour intervals
  • Professional communication skills: oral communication (telephone and in person);
  • Written communication; and listening skills
  • Proven track record of personal responsibility and accountability- including attendance, uniform compliance and attention to detail
  • Experience working in a team environment and independently an asset
  • Experience working in an environment with safety standards an asset
