Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse operations, or similar environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience supervising hourly employees or production teams.
  • Proven track record of driving operational performance and achieving KPI targets.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, 5S/6S, and problem-solving methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead weekend shop floor operations to meet production schedules, customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Optimize labor, equipment, and material resources for maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs including Safety, Quality, Productivity, TAT, and Cost.
  • Enforce Quality standards, Training requirements, 6S practices, and ES&H policies.
  • Lead Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, non-conformances, and audit findings within timelines.
  • Coach and develop frontline employees while managing performance and accountability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows and achieve goals.
  • Support workforce planning and resource allocation for changing demand.
  • Contribute to short- and long-term operational planning initiatives.
  • Foster relations in a unionized manufacturing environment where applicable.

Job description

Our client is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead weekend shift production operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on manufacturing leader with experience managing shop floor operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, developing frontline teams, and delivering measurable KPI results in a production environment.

Schedule: Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 5:30 AM - 5:30 PM

What You'll Do
  • Lead daily shop floor operations to ensure production schedules, customer requirements, and business objectives are achieved
  • Optimize labor, equipment, and material resources to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Monitor and drive performance against key metrics including Safety, Quality, Productivity, Turnaround Time (TAT), and Cost
  • Champion and enforce compliance with Quality standards, Training requirements, 6S practices, and ES&H policies
  • Lead and support Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives across operations
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, non‑conformances, and audit findings within required timelines
  • Coach, mentor, and develop frontline employees while managing performance and accountability
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve workflows and achieve operational goals
  • Support workforce planning and resource allocation to meet changing business demands
  • Contribute to short-term and long-term operational planning initiatives
  • Foster positive working relationships within a unionized manufacturing environment where applicable
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent industry experience will be considered
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse operations, or a related operational environment
  • 3+ years of leadership experience supervising hourly employees or production teams
  • Proven experience driving operational performance and achieving KPI targets
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, 5S/6S, and problem‑solving methodologies
  • Experience managing production output, workforce performance, safety, quality, and operational efficiency
  • Strong leadership, coaching, delegation, and employee development skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast‑paced operational environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French
