Penske Logistics is seeking a proven leader with relevant experience and skills to join our team of transportation and logistics professionals. We are seeking a candidate to supervise drivers at one of our locations.

The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.

Schedule : Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Hours may vary depending on business needs)

Salary : $54,300 - $72,000 - Position is bonus eligible up to 12% of the base salary

Position Summary :

Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervise processes directly including people, systems, customer needs, equipment, etc. Manage workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for performance management of direct reports, including corrective actions and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Participate in hiring processes and customer meetings as necessary.

Major Responsibilities :

People

• Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained, competent, and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives.
• Establish and sustain that performance standards are communicated that are specific and measurable.
• Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards; provide coaching and counseling.
• Motivate and engage associates through team accomplishments and recognition.

Operations

• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch, and documentation control.
• Evaluate and recommend changes to increase dispatch productivity; assist in new associate training.
• Provide relief coverage when associates are absent or on time off.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of site operating systems for compliance and exception resolution.
• Complete records and reports accurately and timely.

Finance

• Ensure compliance with financial policies (tracking MPG, damages, etc.).
• Understand decision-making's impact on profitability.
• Manage associates' hours to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.

Safety

• Align daily activities with safety strategies.
• Provide safety training, feedback, and conduct safety observations.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.

Growth / Customer Experience

• Meet and exceed customer goals and expectations.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Fleet / Assets

• Plan work assignments for effective fleet use.
• Ensure safe operation and maintenance of equipment.

Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications :

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to read, communicate, remember, and analyze information.
• Stand, walk, sit; use hands; lift up to 25 lbs./12 kg.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
