Job summary

FastfrateGroup is seeking an on-site Supervisor to lead a fast-paced team, ensuring freight moves accurately and on time through the dock. You will guide a team, coordinate workloads, and maintain processes to deliver top-tier service in a dynamic environment.

You will manage scheduling, discipline, and performance, adjust dockworker shifts by demand, and drive continuous improvement while supporting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Management level team leadership experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in warehouse/LTL environment asset.
  • Transportation industry knowledge and experience asset.
  • Computer skills - Outlook, Excel, Word.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the overall operations on the cross dock and offload/load processes, procedures and people.
  • Maintain and execute the daily work plan to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of inbound/outbound load execution.
  • Maintain scheduling, discipline and performance management for the employees in the unloading/loading process.
  • Create and change dockworkers schedules as dictated by demand and performance.
  • Continually monitor workloads throughout the department and actively pursue additional resources when justified.
  • Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
  • Create initiatives and procedures that maximize organizational ability to service clients with the most efficiency possible.
  • Breakdown, verify and process worker’s activity logs.
  • Maintain and update the departmental communication log.
  • Generally, maintain an open and effective dialogue with all workers to ensure fairness and clarity of understanding.
  • Create and maintain logs that are necessary to perform quick checks and assessments to ensure the highest quality.
  • Respond to complaints with thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all workers have the required training through Carriers Edge (Manager/Supervisor Training Program).
  • Completion of all required training through Carriers Edge(Manager/Supervisor Training Program).
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education & Experience:
