Job summary

Discoverer is seeking an Operations Supervisor in Langley, BC to lead daily warehouse activities, coordinate shipping and receiving, and drive KPI-focused performance. You will supervise a team, train staff, monitor safety, and partner with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires a hands-on leader with 5+ years in operations, forklift certification, and a strong focus on continuous improvement and safety in a busy logistics environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in operations, warehousing, logistics, manufacturing or a related environment.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience managing day-to-day warehouse operations, inventory, shipping/receiving, and workflow priorities.
• Experience implementing and maintaining SOPs, KPIs and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-Day Operations
• Plan and coordinate daily warehouse and operational activities.
• Set priorities for picking, packing, production and other operational work.
• Assign work and make sure the team has what it needs to complete the day’s priorities.
• Identify delays, bottlenecks or resource issues early and take action to keep work moving.
• Logistics:
• Obtain freight quotes for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Prepare orders for shipment \& book carriers
• Ensure we stay competitive with freight rates
• Inventory \& Quality
• Maintain accurate inventory and oversee cycle counts, stock checks, and investigation of discrepancies.
• Ensure products are properly handled, stored, packaged, and shipped according to Discoverer quality standards.
• Identify inventory shortages, damaged goods, operational errors, and areas requiring corrective action.
• Team Supervision
• Provide daily direction and support to warehouse and operations employees.
• Train and onboard new team members on operational procedures, equipment, products, and safety requirements.
• Monitor productivity, performance, attendance, and adherence to company procedures.
• KPIs, SOPs \& Continuous Improvement
• Monitor and report on key operational KPIs, including order accuracy, inventory accuracy, shipping performance, productivity, and operational errors.
• Ensure established SOPs are consistently followed across warehouse and operational activities.
• Assist with the development, documentation, implementation, and ongoing improvement of operational SOPs.
• Identify recurring issues, inefficiencies, and performance gaps and recommend practical corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, accountability, and overall operational performance.
• Safety \& Compliance
• Ensure employees follow established health and safety procedures, including requirements for forklifts, mobile equipment, material handling, and PPE.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections and address hazards, equipment issues, and unsafe conditions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in operations, warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or a related environment.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing day-to‑day warehouse operations, inventory, shipping/receiving, and workflow priorities.
• Experience implementing and maintaining SOPs, operational processes, and KPIs.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse organization.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to set expectations, delegate work, coach employees, and hold team members accountable.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on operational environment and shifting priorities when business needs change.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments.
• Comfortable using inventory/ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and other business software.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and safe warehouse practices.
• Forklift experience/certification needed.
• Experience: Operations management: 5 years (required)
• Licence/Certification: Forklift Licence (preferred) First Aid Certification (preferred)
