GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our Estevan team. The role entails overseeing drivers, coordinating schedules and equipment, and ensuring safe, cost-effective service delivery. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

The incumbent will collaborate with dispatch, maintenance, and safety to ensure compliance with regulations and high customer satisfaction. This position offers competitive wages and an annual performance bonus.

Formación

• 2-3 years supervisory experience.
• Experience with Front End Loaders and Roll Off vehicles.
• Willing to work flexible hours.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement preferred.
• Previous operations, transportation, waste management experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Direct supervision of all drivers, ensuring ongoing training and disciplinary oversight.
• Act as a liaison between dispatch and drivers to relay daily schedules, equipment, and service needs.
• Conduct driver training to address habits and safety, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct regular driver reviews and maintain customer relations.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure ongoing service and upkeep of units and safety devices.
• Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with company policies.

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the Company’s transportation requirements and patterns. They will review and process day to day operations, evaluate and recommend equipment needs, and plan and schedule appropriate service lines to maintain a cost-effective balance between customer service and cost of service. They will ensure compliance with all government related programs specific to mode and direction of related haulage.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement preferred
• Willing to work flexible hours.
• 2-3 years supervisory experience along with experience working with Front End Loaders and Roll Off vehicles.
• Able to perform a pre and post trip inspection and accident investigations.
• Previous operations, transportation, waste management experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of all drivers, ensuring ongoing training Requirements:, discipline and procedural implementation.
• Act as a direct liaison between dispatch and drivers to ensure information regarding daily schedules, equipment and service Requirements are efficiently relayed.
• Ongoing “sit-in” driver training to assess any poor driving habits, road- rage, excessive braking, possibly fuel cost savings, etc.
• Conduct regular driver reviews.
• Attain all of the necessary information regarding any issues by maintaining courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations with customers
• Tracking of ongoing service/driver issues and documenting any discipline required.
• Organizing and approving driver vacation requests.
• Direct communication with other departments to ensure proper ongoing service and upkeep of all units including safety devices, vehicle lighting, warning devices, fittings, safety supplies.
• Ensure a healthy and safe working environment for all workers reporting any issues immediately to your direct supervisor.
• Ensure company policy, systems, and industry related training is delivered to all drivers.
• Perform Accident Investigations when company vehicles are involved in traffic accidents.
• Provide or arrange training for drivers to ensure they are properly servicing customers based on established Requirements:.
• Resolve all internal service issues in a cost effective and expeditious manner; all customer service issues to be reported internally in a timely, organized manner with details on how the issue(s) will be resolved.
• Other duties as assigned.
