FortisBC is seeking an Operations Process Analyst 1 to join our Surrey, BC team. The role focuses on investigating process breakdowns, analyzing procedures, and facilitating improvements across operations systems and processes.

You will document changes, support training, and coordinate with managers to ensure efficient process flows. The successful candidate brings a post-secondary certificate in a related field, at least three years of experience, and strong analytical, communication, and

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary certificate in a business related field or computer technology, or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of three years directly related experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills including ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Good interpersonal & organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in unstructured team environments
  • Competence in managing small-sized assignments
  • Oral and written communications, presentation skills and adult training delivery ability.
  • Working knowledge of the fundamentals of computer systems, software development lifecycle, system and application software, protocols and standards.
  • Working knowledge of data processing, spreadsheet, statistical and specialized software in use in the department.
  • Knowledge of process improvement models.
  • Valid BC Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates reported process breakdowns and analyzes processes and procedures; performs gap analysis and determines root cause.
  • Researches and identifies opportunities for process improvement.
  • Documents and designs consistent, effective process flow charts and maps with managers and users.
  • Analyses system maintenance problems and recommends actions for non-SAP and SAP applications.
  • Maintains control of system business parameter tables and tests changes.

Position Overview
  • Investigates reported process breakdowns and works collaboratively to analyze processes and procedures, perform gap analysis and determine root cause.
  • Researches, observes and identifies opportunities for process improvement.
  • Works with managers and users to document and design consistent, effective, and efficient process flow charts and maps.
  • Analyses and investigates system maintenance problems with existing operations systems and makes recommendations or takes action to resolve problems.
  • Verifies changes/additions and maintains control of system business parameter tables.
  • Manages the priority of corrective and adaptive system maintenance modifications for non-SAP applications and assists in the prioritization of corrective and adaptive system maintenance for SAP.
  • Documents system changes, prepares test scripts and conducts user acceptance testing of all changes.
  • Maintains records of test results for verification.
  • Provides direction to outsourced system maintenance providers programming corrective and adaptive system changes.
  • Researches system enhancement requirements based on business needs.
  • Works collaboratively with Managers and users to create consistent, effective, and efficient processes and makes recommendation to resolve process breakdowns.
  • Manages small assignments.
  • Develops, maintains and publishes user documentation and training materials with respect to both systems and processes.
  • Communicates both systems and process changes to users and other affected parties.
  • Coaches users in the effective and consistent use of Operations systems and processes
  • Provides end user system training, support, guidance and advice on existing operations systems and processes.
  • Coordinates and conducts training sessions.
