As a Mechanical Technician, you will be installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting industrial machinery and equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring that the pilot plant operates efficiently and at maximum productivity.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for:

  1. Assembling and installing equipment, and testing to ensure proper operation.
  2. Maintaining and repairing equipment to minimize downtime.
  3. Identifying and repairing problematic parts through testing, repairs, and installing new parts.
  4. Conducting preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues.
  5. Operating various equipment and systems.

Fuel your passion

To succeed in this role, you will:

  1. Have 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience maintaining small industrial equipment.
  2. Hold a valid Alberta Journeyperson or Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in Millwright, Pipefitter, Steamfitter, or HVAC.
  3. Possess a strong safety mindset with proven safe work practices, knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S regulations.
  4. Be able to lift items up to 50 pounds and work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  5. Have mechanical aptitude with hand tools, small power tools, forklifts, etc.
  6. Be proficient in reading technical documents such as specifications, manuals, P&IDs.
  7. Have knowledge of maintenance practices, including preventative and predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting small equipment like valves and pumps.
  8. Possess excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
