THE OPPORTUNITY - OPERATIONS MANAGER, OTTAWA, ON

To deliver on our promise to consumers, we count on exceptionally talented, bright, and committed people. This position based out of Ottawa, ON reports to the Director of Operations, Eastern Canada, and will primarily support operations in Ottawa and the Eastern markets while also working closely with the National Operations team.

As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for managing on-time delivery performance (OTDP), delivery success rates and exception handling for assigned clients. This role will organize, manage, and collaborate with service providers to meet and exceed client expectations. This will include a fair and equitable distribution of work with the aim of achieving the retention of high-quality service providers, and satisfied clients.

What You Will Do
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations including dispatching, and monitoring of routes and orders for completion.
  • Daily morning meetings with service providers.
  • Investigate issues and solve problems so that the processes for deliveries are robust.
  • Be able to design and modify processes as and when required to get the results.
  • Support customer launches with client onboarding, platform integration and training.
  • Manage capacity through planning and scheduling of qualified service providers.
  • Conduct business with service providers and clients in a way that aligns with the Company Core Values.
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance requirements are met prior to engaging service providers.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures while conducting business.
  • Provide feedback on routing efficiencies to gain further enhancements to productivity and service.
  • Enforce all scanning compliance requirements with service providers to meet the Company goal of 100% scan visibility.
  • Respond timely on any call backs, messages and cancellations, proactively communicating with Clients on delays.
  • Follow up and hold service providers accountable to service issues.
  • Review prior day KPI’s and conduct root cause analysis to determine the required follow up and action items.
  • Plan, organize, monitor results and manage outcomes for service providers in accordance with Service Agreements and Client expectations.
  • Schedule and meet with Clients to review service levels, opportunities for improvement and business growth.
  • Recruit service providers through effective use of the company process.
  • Training and coaching of service providers to achieve results.
  • Maintain process mapping of tasks.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Sales, Finance and Technology.
  • Review and provide recommendations on best practices, standardization, and optimization of service network.
  • The ability to travel is required.
What You Bring
  • Minimum of a High School diploma.
  • 5+ years experience in operations logistics / related field.
  • 3+ years leadership experience is preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Suite and dispatch systems.
  • You can read and manipulate data, including KPI analysis.
  • You have good project management and communication skills.
  • You are a diplomatic leader with a proactive approach.
  • You have your own transportation.
  • Flexibility with the work hours as needed.
  • Fluency in French and English; both oral and written.

This is a remote work position based out of Ottawa, ON. Hours of work are Mon-Fri 7:00am to 4:00pm EST, with 1 hour for lunch. Hours of work are subject to change based on operational requirements.
