Job summary

Cadillac Fairview is seeking a Operations Manager to oversee the efficient operations of a major Calgary office tower. You will hire and supervise staff, coordinate contractors, manage budgets, and ensure safety and building code compliance.

Lead maintenance teams, develop annual budgets, and collaborate with marketing on tenant services. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities are essential for delivering high-level facility operations.

Qualifications

• Post secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g. Operations Management, Leadership, Building Environmental Studies, Business)
• Minimum 7 years of physical operations management experience with at least 5 years in supervision/management
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical/mechanical systems and large facility services
• Familiar with management principles and budgeting; proficient with Word/Excel/Building Automation Systems or PM software

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and supervise staff in accordance with HR requirements
• Manage direct reports to meet department goals and budgets
• Coordinate contractors and service contracts to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
• Oversee maintenance staff through schedules and reports to ensure timely completion
• Assist in annual operating and capital budgets
• Schedule daily work and delegate tasks to maintenance team
• Maintain records, drawings and operating logs
• Respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis
• Ensure safety compliance and building code adherence
• Coordinate with Marketing for operations-related activities
