Job summary

Cadillac Fairview is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the efficient operations of a major Shopping Centre in Ontario. You will supervise staff, coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors, and drive maintenance, budgeting, and safety initiatives to protect property value.

You will lead daily activities, review expenses, source services, and mentor the team for succession planning while ensuring compliance with CF standards and HR requirements.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Diploma in Building Environmental Systems offered through Community College.
• Stationary Engineer 4th Class Certificate, SMA (BOMA) or Building Environmental Systems II.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in physical Operations management, with at least 2 years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular feedback via status meetings, objective setting sessions, performance appraisals, coaching and counselling, discipline and development projects.
• Manage direct reports to achieve department goals within policies and procedures.
• Motivate and mentor staff for ongoing professional development and succession planning.
• Hire, train and supervise staff per HR requirements and provide necessary orientation and daily oversight.
• Assist in annual operating expense and capital budgets and forecast needs.
• Coordinate maintenance work and ensure timely completion and safety.
• Order parts and services, research pricing, code invoices for payment and maintain records.
• Prepare concise reports for management with relevant data.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and safety training completed.
• Coordinate quotes for specialized services and oversee work to code requirements.
• Maintain HVAC and related systems through preventative maintenance and energy management.
• Protect CF property from loss by enforcing health, safety and security procedures.
