Job summary

Aspen Properties in Calgary is seeking a Building Operator to oversee tenant relations and maintain operating systems across our downtown portfolio of twelve buildings.

You will manage preventative maintenance, oversee HVAC and electrical systems, coordinate contractors, and support budget planning while providing reliable on-call service. This full-time role offers a dynamic, team-focused environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or post-secondary education.
• 4th Class Power Engineering ABSA Certification preferred; 5th Class Power Engineering can be considered.
• 5+ years in building operations including HVAC and preventative maintenance.
• Delta Controls Automation experience would be an asset.
• Experience with steam boilers and systems would be an asset.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
• City of Calgary Police Information/Criminal Record Check and Educational Check required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise trades and services and liaise with tenants.
• Perform tasks from preventative maintenance, tenant service, luminaire, plumbing, and unscheduled maintenance systems.
• Suggest and implement improvements or replacements for equipment or systems within Aspen’s Calgary portfolio.
• Provide backup to crew and assist with investigations and projects on building equipment and operating parameters.
• Maintain the appearance, safety, and convenience of the property for tenants; respond to tenant requests.
• Be available for on-call duty after hours and scheduled shift work.
• Operate building mechanical and electrical systems safely and efficiently.
