Job summary

Telecon Saskatoon is seeking an Operations Manager to lead all regional operations, including health and safety, finances, contract management, field activities, subcontractors and client relationships.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, you will develop action plans, drive KPI, coach teams, manage budgets, and ensure projects are planned and executed on time and within budget; travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in Business or related discipline.
5–10 years of field supervision and project management experience, preferably in telecom.
Experience and knowledge in telecommunication projects.
Strong client relationship management to grow business across levels and networks.
Excellent leadership and communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong project management, strategic thinking and tactical execution.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects.
Strong data analysis and ability to translate data into conclusions.
Excellent capacity to resolve operational issues.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage all regional operations including health and safety, finances, contract management, field activities, sub-contractors and client relationships.
Develops action plans aligned with Telecon’s strategy to meet objectives and growth targets.
Provide direction and coaching to team to achieve financial and operational targets.
Identify, develop and track KPIs for the region.
Serve as a change agent promoting Telecon values and teamwork.
Collaborate with divisions to optimize resources and opportunities.
Maintain relationships with customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
Ensure projects are planned and executed on time and within budget; prepare monthly analyses and regional reports.
Direct Supervisors and administrative staff toward goals and objectives.
Monitor financial KPIs, annual budgeting and monthly performance.
Address operational issues promptly and manage contracts.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations; the Operations Manager is responsible to lead and manage all operations of their region. This includes health and safety, finances, contract management, field activities, sub-contractors and client relationships according to Telecon’s commitments.

You Will Have The Opportunity To

Develops action plans in line with Telecon’s strategic deployment to meet short term and long-term objectives, profitability and business growth. This role is responsible and accountable for the performance and results of the region, while ensuring they are in accordance with the business plan targets and the application is of sound governance
Demonstrates leadership by providing direction and coaching to team to achieve the financial and operational targets of their region
Identifies, develops and executes key performance indicators (KPI) for the business
Acts as a change agent by inspiring and driving core company values such as health and safety, experts in our line of business, and promoting teamwork
Works closely with other divisions and corporate groups (operations support, finance, human capital) to optimize resources and opportunities for growth
Maintains effective communication with our partners, including customers, suppliers, and subcontractors
Build and maintain client’s relationship while developing new business opportunities through strong telecommunications network
Ensure projects are planned and executed on time and in budget. This role will prepare monthly project analysis and regional performance report; optimize project productivities with regard to resources and equipment and participate in estimate preparation
Direct and lead the Supervisors and administrations staff toward goals and objectives
Ensure financial KPI’s are followed; are on target and propose alternative solutions and actions when required. This role will also establish and implement annual budget and measure monthly regional financial performance
Resolve operational issues
Manage general contracts and subcontractor’s contracts
Oversee contract management initiatives
Ensure proper implementation of company’s procedures with regard to health & safety and quality

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES

Bachelor’s degree is required in Business or related discipline
Between 5-10 years of field supervision and project management, preferably in the telecommunications industry
Experience and knowledge in telecommunication projects
Strong client relationship management skill: ability to effectively work with all levels and leverage telecommunications network in order to grow business
Excellent leadership and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Excellent project management skills, strategic thinking, and tactical implementation skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple mid-to large scale projects and initiatives
Strong data analysis and the ability to translate data into conclusions
Excellent capacity to resolve operational issues
Strong planning and organizational skills
Available to travel
