Job Description

Hemlane is seeking an Operations Manager for our Leasing team to join our rapidly growing company. Our platform revolutionizes rental property management by providing property owners with a flexible SaaS solution and a marketplace of real estate agents, enabling remote management from anywhere in the world.

We are open to candidates who are strong individual contributors or those who can step into a managerial role. The right candidate should be willing to learn our systems and processes through hands-on work.

Please NOTE: All leasing activities are conducted remotely; we do not service Alberta. There is no on-site work involved. Operations are managed from our Calgary office, which has a 1-2 day-a-week office policy. Candidates must be comfortable working in a digital environment with a focus on metrics and reporting. This position does not involve traditional in-person leasing or property visits.

We are looking for a team member with strong experience in customer service, project management, and home repairs. The role requires a problem-solving mindset and a passion for helping customers succeed. Your work will directly influence the future of property management and the real estate industry.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with a team of three leasing coordinators.
  2. Implement systems to support scaling operations.
  3. Develop a good understanding of our products and software to identify solutions using our tools.
  4. Identify and suggest opportunities to automate time-consuming tasks.
  5. Partner with the product team to design and test software for internal and customer-facing applications.
  6. Coordinate the remote collection of house keys and installation of lockboxes.
  7. Review inspection reports and discuss scope of work with property owners.
  8. Manage repair and cleaning requests with vendors remotely.
  9. Source and evaluate service vendors to expand our network of professionals.

Requirements

  • Have experience working in a product-focused tech company.
  • Be an innate leader who helps the team improve and is recognized as such.
  • Possess excellent task management skills to handle daily responsibilities efficiently.
  • Excel at customer problem solving, uncovering true objectives, and guiding repair requests to resolution.
  • Be comfortable with software and quick to learn new tools.
  • Enjoy phone interactions to achieve faster results.
  • Have knowledge of standard home repairs, including handiwork, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Be collaborative and eager to contribute to a growing team.
  • Be highly organized, documenting processes clearly to support team building.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, going above and beyond for customers.
  • Have a strong work ethic suited to a fast-changing environment.
  • Hold a college degree (BS/BA).
  • Possess 3 to 6 years of experience in repair coordination.
