We are committed to operational excellence and seeking a skilled Operations Accountant to join our team.

About the Role:
The Operations Accountant supports the financial operations of Ashcor’s Canadian and U.S. facilities, including full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. The role involves project accounting and liaising with internal teams such as accounts payable, receivable, and procurement.

What You Will Do:

• Manage full cycle accounting, including financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Record transactions, perform reconciliations, and prepare adjusting entries
• Maintain inventory accounts for spare parts and finished goods
• Assist in processing payables, including requisitions, coding, and invoice tracking
• Coordinate with Accounting and Logistics to ensure accurate ash delivery records and invoicing
• Communicate financial operations effectively to relevant teams
• Prepare monthly gross margin, expense, and unit pricing analyses
• Generate monthly operations cost reports and statistical analyses
• Respond to queries and collaborate with ATCO’s Accounts Payable and Receivable teams
• Assess and recommend process improvements
• Provide regular and ad hoc reports, participate in special projects
• Support Salesforce system enhancements
• Assist in Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice runs and updates with Salesforce
• Upload yearly business plans, forecasts, and budgets to Oracle systems

What You Bring:

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
• At least five years of full-cycle accounting experience, including project accounting and budgeting
• Canadian CPA designation
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel locally as needed
• Knowledge of IFRS and experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems
• Strong Excel and data management skills
• Sound judgment, excellent communication, analytical skills, and ability to prioritize
• Willingness to learn, improve processes, and grow within the company
• Experience with Salesforce and construction industry assets are pluses
