Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in Continuous Improvement in manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is an asset.

Operational Excellence Engineer (Continuous Improvement)

Summary:

Reporting to the Operational Excellence Team Leader, the Operational Excellence Engineer will initiate and drive execution on projects related to standardizing best practices, continually reducing costs, and increasing overall efficiencies; all within a fast-paced, high-growth food manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • As part of the Operational Excellence (OpEx) team, work on multiple projects related to operations, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sanitation, Quality, and Maintenance & Reliability.
  • Collect and analyze data following a structured methodology (DMAIC) to implement sustainable improvements in all aspects of Operations.
  • Support planning and execution of key continuous improvement projects under the guidance of the OpEx Team Leader, working with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Support commissioning activities of new equipment and manufacturing lines.
  • Create an environment that fosters continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • Lead training sessions for teams including Production, Sanitation, Quality, and Maintenance.
  • Support troubleshooting and drive project completion to fruition.
  • Ensure a safe working environment at all times.
  • Work in automation and develop prototype applications.

Required Experience:

  • Completed Post-Secondary education in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • 1+ year experience in a Continuous Improvement role in manufacturing (co-op considered).
  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma are an asset.
  • Experience with Excel Advanced Functions and VBA is an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Bi, PowerApps, Power Automate, etc.) or interest in learning is an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively, lead, and motivate teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Flexible to work different schedules when needed.
  • High energy, passionate, and results-oriented.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle.
  • Valid travel documents for US facilities support.
