Job summary

Orion Steel Group, L.L.C. is seeking an Operational Excellence Analyst to develop and implement the corporate strategy focused on employee engagement and cultural transformation. You will lead cross-functional ideation, track progress, and quantify financial impact across units.

You will analyze KPIs daily, drive change management in a heavy manufacturing setting, and mentor teams while collaborating with HR, Finance, IT to foster a collaborative approach to excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 3–5 years of industry experience in heavy manufacturing preferred.
  • Self-starter able to multi-task, maintain accuracy and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Lean tools training and experience.
  • Understanding of workflow and throughput in a facility.
  • Experience with change management in manufacturing.
  • Multi-priority management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Experience and expertise in Value Stream Mapping and leading A3 processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Lean manufacturing software.
  • Analytical tools knowledge; strong statistics understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Improve employee engagement and collaborate with operators to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT to enable excellence.

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Support of all other members of program office and execute activities provided by program office manager
  • Identify, quantify and execute on operational excellence activities across unit
  • Lead training, coaching and mentoring sessions with shop personal
  • Support all operational excellence activities (preparation phase, active phase, and support phase)
  • Improve employee engagement and collaborate with operators to improve performance
  • Working with site administrative support functions such Human Resources, Finance and Accounting, IT, to create a collaborative approach to operational excellence success
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 3-5 years’ industry experience, heavy manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Lean tools training and experience
  • Ability to understand workflow/through-put in a facility
  • Experience with change management, experience in a manufacturing or related industry preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Training and/or Certification with Six Sigma, Black Belt Preferred
  • Experience and expertise in Value Stream Mapping with the ability to lead the process
  • Experience and expertise in leading A3 processes; knowledge or formats and procedures
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Lean Manufacturing Software
  • Ability to use analytical tools and strong understanding of statistics
