Job summary

Covenant Health in Edmonton seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse - Operating Room Technician (LPN-ORT) to join the operating room team. You will provide holistic perioperative care and support to patients, working within the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

The role requires LPN registration in Alberta, BLS Level C, and the ability to lift 25 lbs while maintaining composure in a fast-paced OR environment. Regular part-time posting with 0.50 FTE offering shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) prior to start.
• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
• Graduate of a perioperative nursing program for LPNs.
• Lift 25lbs and stand for prolonged periods; strong organizational and communication skills.

Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse - Operating Room Technician (LPN-ORT) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. Required Qualifications:

Must be registered with and hold a valid practice permit from College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) prior to commencing employment. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a Perioperative Nursing program for LPN's with a minimum of three months of recent Operating Room experience within the past two years. Must be able to lift 25lbs and have the physical ability to push, pull, bend, and stand for prolonged periods of time (more than 30 minutes). Demonstrates excellent organizational, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills both spoken and written. Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized and rapid moving environment. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team. Demonstrates proven problem‑solving and critical thinking skills. Computer skills including experience with electronic charting & Microsoft Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least two year’s operating room experience an asset.
