Job summary

Youville Home in St. Albert, part of Covenant Health, invites a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the 5W Safe Haven YH team. You will deliver holistic, patient‑centred care as part of a multidisciplinary group and mentor staff to promote excellence and safety.

Requirements: Practical Nursing program graduate with active CLHA/LPN registration in Alberta, Basic Life Support Level C, and at least 1 year in continuing care. Evenings and weekends; part‑time, 0.76 FTE.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).
• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
• Minimum of 1 year LPN experience in Continuing Care within the past 2 years.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Preferred: Connect Care experience.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating in the delivery of holistic care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN practices to full scope, applying professional nursing knowledge, clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills to support safe care and positive health outcomes. The role is committed to providing person-centred, culturally safe, and inclusive care that respects the diverse backgrounds, experiences, values, and needs of patients/residents and families. The LPN contributes to a culture of learning and professional practice excellence by orienting, coaching, mentoring, and supporting the development of staff, students, and learners.
