Job summary

Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, ON is seeking a Casual Registered Practical Nurse for the Operating Room. The role requires current CNO registration, BCLS, OR course, and at least 2 years' experience in OR/Day Surgery/Endoscopy.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Current BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of an Accredited Operating Room Course/Certification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Operating Room/Day Surgery and Endoscopy.
• Must be available for on-call/standby shifts as scheduled and meet callback requirements.
• IV Therapy Course (or within scope).
• Cardiac Monitoring / Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
• Demonstrated Physical Assessment skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Must demonstrate success working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Lifelong learner.
• Must demonstrate successfully working in a team environment.
• Satisfactory performance and attendance required.
• Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date.
• Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired.

Responsibilities

• Standard Operating Room, PACU, Endoscopy, Day Surgery hours: Monday - Friday as required with regular standby rotation including call backs.
• Must be able to respond to on-call within a specified timeframe.
