Job summary

Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for the Operating Room on a temporary full-time-equivalent (0.5) basis within the Surgery - Operating Room department. The position falls under the CUPE collective agreement with shifts across days, evenings, nights, weekends and extended hours.

The successful candidate will hold current CNO registration as an RPN, possess Level C BLS, and have perioperative nursing training or be near completion.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse.
• Current BLS certification (Level C).
• Must have completed or be near completion of a Perioperative Nursing program from an accredited Educational institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative care as a scrub and circulating nurse in General Surgery, Urology, ENT, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Vascular and Gynaecology.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure aseptic technique and patient safety.
• Participate in call-back and standby duties as required.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality in a fast-paced OR environment.

Education

Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse

Current BLS certification (Level C)

Perioperative Nursing program completion or near completion
