Job summary

Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, Ontario is seeking a Temporary Full Time Registered Practical Nurse for the Operating Room. The role involves working in OR, PACU, Endoscopy and Day Surgery, with a regular standby rotation and on-call responsibilities.

Candidates must hold CNO registration, BCLS, OR course, at least 2 years OR/day surgery experience, and be able to meet call-back requirements; PVSC may be required.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Current BCLS certification.
• Accredited Operating Room Course/Certification completed.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Operating Room/Day Surgery/Endoscopy.
• Available for on-call/standby shifts and call back as scheduled.
• IV Therapy Course (or at or up to scope).
• Cardiac Monitoring / Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia training (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
• Demonstrated communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Team-based collaborative approach in multidisciplinary settings.
• Satisfactory performance, attendance and references; PVSC completed.

REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE – OPERATING ROOM

(TEMPORARY FULL TIME)

One (1) temporary full time RPN opportunity is available in the Operating Room at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

This position is unionized with UNIFOR, Local 1106.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Current BCLS certification
• Successful completion of an Accredited Operating Room Course/Certification
• Minimum 2 years experience working in the Operating Room/Day Surgery and Endoscopy
• Must be available to take on call/ standby shifts as scheduled and meet the call back requirements
• IV Therapy Course (or up to scope)
• Cardiac Monitoring / Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
• Demonstrated Physical Assessment skills
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

HOURS:

• Standard Operating Room, PACU, Endoscopy, Day Surgery hours: Monday - Friday as required and a regular monthly minimum rotation of stand by including call backs.
• Must be able to respond to on call within a specified timeframe.

SALARY:

• $37.69 to $39.17 per hour
