Job summary

Beedie is seeking a Development Manager to lead Ontario land acquisitions and guide site plans from conception through stabilization. You will review zoning bylaws, oversee due diligence, manage proformas, and coordinate with municipal planning, consultants, and internal teams to deliver built-to-suit and speculative developments.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in development management, strong contract knowledge, and proven ability to drive budgets and schedules while building strategic

Qualifications

• Experience as a development manager in land and building development cycles.
• Experience with reviewing proformas for purchasing, selling and leasing commercial properties.
• Experience with land due diligence review, and managing tasks on multiple, concurrent projects.
• Good knowledge of the Ontario building code.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage the land acquisitions process by reviewing zoning bylaws, restrictive covenants, design guidelines and preliminary design drawings.
• Visit prospective land opportunities to assess existing conditions and costs.
• Review due diligence packages including geotechnical and environmental reports and obtain site prep budgets.
• Lead site plan, draft plan and building permit approvals and coordinate with municipal planning and building departments.
• Establish relationships with city staff and consultants to accelerate approvals.
• Manage development proformas to schedule budgets and inform leadership decisions.
• Oversee project budgets, reporting, and procurement processes.
