Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Canada in Mississauga is seeking a Thermal & Structural Analyst to plan and execute thermal, structural, and lifing analyses on component designs. The role is onsite and involves using 3D finite element tools to ensure structural integrity across product life cycles.

The candidate will contribute to test objectives, participate in research programs to improve durability, and collaborate with IPT teams from design to production, presenting in design reviews and supporting QN

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 7 years experience.
• Master’s or PhD degree with 2 to 5 years experience.
• Basic knowledge of heat transfer and fluid mechanics is required.
• Familiarity with CFD is an asset.
• Occasional overtime, evening, weekend or holiday support may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute structural/stress, thermal and lifing analysis of component/system designs.
• Use available 3D finite element stress analysis tools to optimize the quality of the design.
• Determine test objectives on rig/test cell hardware and instrumentation.
• Participate in research programs to improve component life and durability and to develop new technology.
• Responsible for entire projects with significant scope and complexity.
• Work with integrated product teams (IPT) in all stages from design to production.
• Presenting in design reviews, support to STO through QN dispositions.
