Job summary
Pratt & Whitney Canada seeks a seasoned Materials Engineer to join the Materials Engineering team. You will act as an expert advisor to Designers, Drafting, Project Engineers and Structures Analysts, focusing on forgeable materials, heat treatment, coatings, and material properties.
The role requires on-site work in Longueuil or Mississauga, with global travel for process reviews. The candidate should have a strong background in aerospace forging, solid technical writing, and the ability to work
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering with extensive aerospace forging experience.
- Strong technical writing skills required.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Customer service mindset and collaborative approach.
- Autonomous, adaptable and rigorous with willingness to learn and share knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Support designers in selecting aerospace-grade materials and coatings.
- Review and approve material/process specifications and drawings.
- Coordinate with suppliers for process reviews and engineering intent verification.
- Manage data and perform statistical analyses related to material properties.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace certification requirements.
