Job summary

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a skilled Field Technician (Dock & Door) to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will maintain dock equipment, including dock plates and overhead doors, and perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.

The role requires reading schematics, electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to travel locally. A Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson’s ticket is an asset, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical troubleshooting preferred.
• Welding, torching and grinding steel experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand schematics.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Install dock equipment, doors, operators, and related systems to meet customer needs.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair dock equipment and overhead doors.
• Build relationships with customers and clarify job scopes and repair requirements.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on assigned equipment.
