Job summary

Leavitt Machinery is seeking a mechanically skilled Dock & Door Field Technician to join our Service team in Ottawa, Ontario. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain warehouse dock systems and doors for our customers.

You will complete preventive maintenance, respond to calls, document work, and assist with installations while upholding safety standards. We offer competitive pay, benefits, RRSP matching, and opportunities to grow within a fast‑growing North

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dock & Door Technician, Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, or similar trade is an asset.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Basic welding knowledge is an asset.
• Ability to work independently with strong time-management skills.
• Comfort with physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain warehouse dock systems, dock levelers, seals, shelters, bumpers, and related components.
• Service and repair various types of overhead/rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, and associated hardware.
• Complete preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Respond to service calls in a timely, professional manner.
• Document work performed and communicate findings to customers and internal teams.
• Ensure all work meets company standards and adheres to safety regulations.
• Assist with installations of new dock and door equipment as required.

The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a mechanically skilled Dock & Door Field Technician to join our Service team in Ottawa, Ontario. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain warehouse dock systems, dock levelers, seals, shelters, bumpers, and related components
• Service and repair various types of overhead/rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, and associated hardware
• Complete preventive maintenance and safety inspections
• Respond to service calls in a timely, professional manner

The base pay range for this role is: $32.00 to $37.00 per hour, depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Ottawa, Ontario.
