Leavitt Machinery is seeking a Field Technician in Belle River, Ontario to diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on material handling equipment onsite. The role reports to the Service Manager and supports a variety of machinery for loyal customers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in heavy equipment or automotive repair, a Red Seal or Journeyperson ticket, hydraulics experience, and strong communication to coordinate with customers and internal teams.

• 5+ years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience
• Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson's ticket or Red Seal Certification
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset
• Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers and stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and learning aptitude
• High school diploma and valid driver's license with ability to travel

Responsabilidades

• Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
• Maintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Discussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements
• Communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sites
• Maintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork
• Reporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies

The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a mechanically skilled Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive Mechanic) to join our Service team in Belle River, Ontario. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
• Maintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Discussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements
• Communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sites
• Maintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork
• Reporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies

Required Skills & Qualifications

• At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry
• Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson's ticket or a Relevant Red Seal Trade Certification
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset
• Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• High school diploma
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required

The base pay range for this role is: $42.44 to $46.68 per hour depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Belle River, Ontario.
