Job summary

Aecon Utilities is seeking an EHS Advisor to promote a health, safety and environmental culture on North Ontario projects, based onsite in Mississauga or nearby. The role focuses on implementing training, conducting inspections, and supporting incident investigations to protect workers and communities.

Reporting to the Sr.EHS Advisor, you will coordinate safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to a safer workplace in a demanding project environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction health and safety roles.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects.
• Experience with project-based environments.
• Knowledge of Electrical Utilities Safety Rules and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promote an inclusive safety culture across projects and teams.
• Conduct employee health and safety orientation and site-specific safety briefings.
• Train workers in fall protection, WHMIS, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate safety training such as First Aid and elevated work platforms.
• Conduct workplace inspections and safety audits.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with workers' compensation claims and return-to-work plans.
• Prepare safety presentations for clients and partner organizations.
