Job summary

Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre is seeking a Student Support Teacher to deliver the Saskatchewan curriculum online and adapt lessons for diverse learners. The role focuses on planning, instruction, assessment, and collaborative program development with the learning team.

The ideal candidate holds a B.Ed. (Saskatchewan) and may have an M.Ed. or Special Education certificate. Strong skills with Moodle and Microsoft Teams are expected for effective online delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree or equivalent teaching certification in Saskatchewan.
  • Master of Education (M.Ed.) or Special Education Certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum and Planning: Ensure the Saskatchewan curriculum is delivered effectively while adapting for diverse learners and their individual needs.
  • Instruction and Assessment: Develop engaging online lessons, activities, and interventions; use varied assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform instruction.
  • Leadership: Use Moodle and Microsoft Teams to manage course content, deliver lessons, and communicate with students and colleagues; collaborate with teachers and staff.
  • Classroom: Establish clear expectations for learning and conduct in synchronous and asynchronous settings; foster a supportive online learning environment.
  • Outside Classroom: Maintain clear communications with parents/guardians about progress and achievements; respond to their needs.
