Job summary

Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre is seeking a permanent, part-time Online Learning Facilitator to support students in an online environment. The position will be located in Aberdeen and involves serving as the primary point of contact for learners.

You will need excellent communication, strong organizational skills, comfort with technology, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Seeks support when needed and advocates for students.
• Follow school-based administrators' expectations for creating DLCgo accounts, requesting courses, approving course requests, course selections, drops, etc.
• Keep accurate and timely documentation including student records, timelines, assignments/exams, progress reports, communications, etc.
• May take attendance for each period.
• Collaborate with Online Teachers, Student Support Teachers, Administrators, Principals, or Support Staff.
• Ensure students have necessary resources (materials, textbooks, tech, etc.) and record/return them.
• Orient new students to classroom procedures, logging in, and how online learning works.
• Supervise and demonstrate knowledge and application of diverse learning supports to meet student needs

Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre requires a permanent, part-time (7 hours daily) Online Learning Facilitator. The position will be located in Aberdeen.

Online Learning Facilitators (OLFs) will be responsible for supporting students obtain a quality online educational experience. As an OLF you will work with students in an online learning environment and will, in most cases, be the primary point of contact for our learners.

Focused on delivering a quality online educational experience, this position requires excellent communication, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, considerable experience in relevant technology, understanding of the challenges of online learning, and the ability to work independently with respect to carrying out the duties assigned in a challenging and fast paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Administrative Tasks

• Seeks support when needed (school staff) and advocate for students.
• Follow school-based administrators expectations for creating DLCgo accounts/new applications, requesting courses, approving course request, course selections, drops, etc.
• Keep accurate and timely documentation - student records organized/filed (i.e. files for students, timelines, marked assignments/exams, progress reports, communications, etc.).
• May take attendance for each period.

Supporting Learning

• Work as a collaborative team member that may include Online Teachers, Student Support Teachers, School-Based Administrators, Campus Principals or Support Staff.
• Ensures students have necessary resources (Sask DLC materials, pintables, textbooks, technology, lab supplies, etc.) as per the Resources page in each course; record and return.
• Orientates new students to classroom procedures and expectations, logging in, and how online learning works within their school.
• Supervise and demonstrate knowledge and application of diverse learning supports to meet student academic needs
