Job summary

Ericsson Canada Inc. is seeking a Field Technician to coordinate, manage, and execute on-site Field Services activities in support of Operations and Engineering.

The role focuses on in-site activities to ensure services meet SLA performance levels while complying with Project OHS requirements. The position involves on-site support for Operations with some SIP functions, and requires shift work, overtime and regular 24-hour on-call support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Diploma/Certificate in Electronics or related field.
• Two+ years of experience in telecommunications.
• Certification related to EHS/OHS.
• Knowledge of GSM/WCDMA/LTE.
• Familiarity with site-related issues.
• Knowledge of multivendor telecom equipment.
• Adherence to Ericsson Life Saving Rules.
• Understanding of SOPs and processes.
• Hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Root cause analysis (RCA).
• Working at heights and tower access.
• RF/EMF awareness.
• Lone work requirements.
• First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Respond to corrective network problems with analysis, troubleshooting, and prompt repair.
• Coordinate with technicians and departments to maintain service levels.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance to meet performance standards.
• Perform cutovers and upgrades as directed by work orders.
• Maintain up-to-date site documentation and test hand-offs.
• Complete administrative reporting (mileage, timesheets, expenses).
• Maintain inventory and perform regular audits of parts.
