Job summary

Ericsson Canada Inc. is seeking a Field Technician to coordinate, manage, and execute Field Services activities for Operations and Engineering. You will focus on on-site support, ensuring SLA performance and compliance with OHS requirements.

The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, cutovers, and documentation across telecom networks. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in telecom, a related electronics qualification, and familiarity with GSM/WCDMA/LTE.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s, Diploma or Certificate in Electronics or related field.
2+ years in telecommunications industry.
Certification related to EHS/OHS.
Knowledge of GSM, WCDMA, LTE networks.
Understanding of service implementation and integration.
Familiarity with site-related issues.
Experience with multivendor telecom equipment.
Adherence to Ericsson Life Saving Rules.
Knowledge of SOPs and processes.
Hazard identification and RCA knowledge.
Experience with working at heights and tower access.
RF/EMF awareness.
Lone work requirements.
First Aid training.
Responsible driving and vehicle inspection.

Responsibilities

Respond to corrective network problems with analysis, troubleshooting, and repair to restore service.
Coordinate with technicians and departments to maintain service levels.
Plan and implement preventive maintenance routines.
Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed.
Maintain up-to-date site documentation and logs.
Perform acceptance tests on new sites/equipment to ensure specs.
Manage inventory and perform regular audits of parts.
Complete administrative reporting (mileage, timesheets, expenses).
Test hand-offs, RSSI, and monitor performance changes.
Document activities for future assessment and analysis.
