SafetyCo is seeking a Site Safety Officer to support an industrial construction project in Hamilton for an 8-12 week contract. This is a field-based, client-facing role focused on ensuring site safety, compliance, and hazard mitigation.

You will work closely with project teams, project owners and sub-contractors to maintain a safe and compliant work environment while promoting a strong safety culture. A minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience and solid knowledge of OHSA are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and Construction Regulations (O. Reg. 213/91).
  • Experience with inspections, hazard assessments, and reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • CRSP, NCSO or equivalent is a valuable asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and provide actionable reports.
  • Support implementation of health and safety programs on site.
  • Lead worker safety orientations and verify training compliance.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and contractors to mitigate risks.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide safety recommendations.
  • Assist with incident investigations and reporting.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies when required.

About the Role
