Job summary

Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is seeking a Project Team Lead to oversee day-to-day operations for the MLX-Syncrude site north of Fort McMurray, AB. The role emphasizes safety, team supervision, and coordination with the General Foreman to meet client requirements.

This safety-sensitive, full-time position requires 14 days on/7 days off with 13-hour shifts and pre-employment testing. Camp accommodations are not provided, and compliance with safety standards is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a satisfactory 3-year driving abstract.
• CSTS and CSO/BSO required; Ground Disturbance is an asset.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); SAP or Ceridian Dayforce is an asset.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in Mining/Project Operations.
• Ability to read blueprints and EWP drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Safety-focused with ability to perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and schedule crew activities and equipment operation.
• Direct and support a large team to meet contract and client requirements.
• Ensure safety, quality, schedule and productivity targets.
• Maintain client relationships with field presence.
• Assist General Foreman with supervisory challenges.
• Collaborate on risk assessment and job planning.
• Ensure safe execution of work per scope and schedule.
• Coordinate with shift safety personnel on HSE initiatives.
• Investigate incidents and injuries in a timely manner.
• Support career development of hourly employees.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and leadership.
• Resolve conflicts promptly; work independently and in a team.
• Engage in continuous learning and cross-training.
