Job summary

New Vista Housing in Burnaby, BC is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician (Full-Time) to perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping duties across our residential properties. The role reports to the Facilities Manager and focuses on keeping facilities safe, functional and welcoming for tenants.

Responsibilities include general repairs, plumbing and electrical work, painting, carpentry, and upkeep of exteriors; plus maintaining records and assisting with safety

Qualifications

• Grade 10 education plus two years of related maintenance experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work with tenants, staff and contractors.
• Physical capability to perform maintenance tasks and operate tools.
• Valid BC Driver’s Licence.
• Knowledge of safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs across properties.
• Repair plumbing and electrical fixtures and components.
• Paint, carpentry, and groundskeeping duties.
• Inspect and report on facility safety and maintenance needs.
• Maintain maintenance records and reports.
• Move and transport equipment and supplies as required.
• Assist with on-site parking and tenant safety as needed.
