Job summary

Jenoptik is seeking a System Support Specialist to oversee daily IT operations at our Mississauga site. The role requires on-site work with a focus on system administration, client relationships, and ensuring uptime of production and test environments.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in IT systems administration, strong communication, and the ability to solve problems proactively. Travel within North America may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Information technology or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in IT systems administration.
• Proficient in virtualization, storage, networking and database administration.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong people skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within North America.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of IT systems and client relationships.
• Ensure zero downtime of production and test systems.
• Provide customized reporting for clients.
• Assist client staff with technical issues.
• Manage support requests and documentation.
• Provide environment information to suppliers.
• Maintain data security and program integrity.
• Perform backups, manage virtual machines, and replace hardware when needed.
• Coordinate with suppliers to troubleshoot IT issues.
• Train client staff on IT appliances and software.
• Manage consumables and supplies.
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
• Maintain up-to-date operational reports and lists.
