Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician based in Sault Ste. Marie, reporting to our Sudbury Construction & Forestry branch.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry equipment and attachments in a shop environment. You will diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and document maintenance using computer systems; safety and standards are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
• Must be a certified journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred.
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence.
• Must be able to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the working condition of equipment and diagnose repairs.
• Assemble/disassemble equipment and order parts as needed.
• Use related instruments, tools, and computer systems.
• Document on work orders all machine information and actions taken.
• Ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
