Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises is seeking an experienced Site Foreman for a permanent, full-time role at the Syncrude site in Fort McMurray. The position operates on a 7 on, 7 off schedule with 11.5 hour days and nights, and includes competitive hourly rates along with benefits and an industry-standard retirement plan.

The Foreman will oversee on-site personnel and equipment, ensure policies are followed, and support a safe, efficient operation at the Syncrude site.

Qualifications

• Possess valid driver's license (minimum class 3) with clean abstract.
• OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS Certification.
• Minimum 1year previous supervisory experience.
• Experience with Water and Vac Trucks as well as Steaming and Washbays.
• NCSO Designation or working towards.
• Above average troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Excellent customer relations.
• Interpersonal skills, facilitation, and planning skills.
• Strong computer skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
• Keep required training certificates and tickets up to date including: TDG, Hours of Service, DTCs, etc.
• Must pass BME pre-employment evaluation, road test, D&A and fit for duty screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong field leadership to employees.
• Coordinate personnel and equipment.
• Assist in the leadership of personnel.
• Promote a safe work environment through HSE procedures.
• Assist with scheduling personnel.
• Direct daily activities of front-line employees to meet policies.
• Conduct site inspections.
• Ensure units ready for the following day.
• Review training documentation (JSA, inspections, timecards).
• Meet KPI targets.
• Follow BME procedures and conduct toolbox talks.
• Ensure training certificates remain current.
• Prepare, plan and conduct daily toolbox talks.
• Other duties as assigned.
