Job summary

Fort McKay Group of Companies LP in Fort McMurray, AB is seeking a Project General Foreman to lead a large field crew on the Syncrude Aurora site. You will report to the Project Superintendent and ensure safety, quality, schedule and productivity to meet client expectations.

The role requires 10+ years in mining operations in a supervisory capacity, CSTS/OSSA/CSO, and strong English communication. You will mentor hourly staff and participate in risk assessments while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license required.
• 3 year clean Driver's Abstract required.
• 10+ years mining operations supervisory experience required.
• CSTS and OSSA or BSO or CSO required.
• Experience with open pit mining operations preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance required.
• Ability to work under pressure and make decisions.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a large crew with field team leads to meet contract and client requirements.
• Ensure safety, quality, schedule and productivity targets are met.
• Perform Safe Work Observations and Planned Work Inspections.
• Provide input into bid strategies with the Project Superintendent.
• Develop and maintain client relationships in the field and meetings.
• Attend client and company meetings to address concerns.
• Resolve supervisory issues and coach staff as needed.
• Assist with risk assessments and job planning.
• Coordinate with safety personnel on HSE initiatives.
