Job summary

Kichton Construction LP in Fort McMurray, AB, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Supervisor to lead heavy equipment technicians across AB oilsands sites such as Fort Hills and Syncrude MLX. Travel to mine sites is required; 12-hour shifts with 14 on/7 off, on-site camp or LOA options.

A Journeyperson HET certificate and 10+ years of mining equipment experience are preferred. The role emphasizes mentorship, training, and hands-on supervision of mechanics and apprentices, with a focus on safety

Qualifications

Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certificate required.
10+ years experience in mining equipment maintenance preferred.
Proficient in English, both verbally and written.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with good driving record.
Pre-employment drug and alcohol test required.
Experience with B2W software and Microsoft Office recommended.

Responsibilities

Provide training, mentorship and leadership to heavy-duty mechanics and fuel/lube technicians.
Perform wage assessments and disciplinary actions as needed.
Forecast manpower requirements and approve timesheets.
Review sub-contractor hours and billing.
Ensure site has required consumables and equipment.
Assist crews with troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment.
Complete detailed service and repair reports after each shift.
