Job summary

MacLean Engineering is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our aftermarket team in Sudbury, Ontario. You will provide on-site technical support for MacLean equipment and collaborate with engineering to improve performance.

Duties include diagnosing failures, performing repairs, and delivering clear reports and cost estimates to customers. Build strong relationships with client personnel while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• Certificate of qualification as a construction equipment mechanic or equivalent.
• Modular mining training modules 1–7 completed or on the job.
• Minimum 3 years’ hands-on Journey Person experience on heavy mobile equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints, hydraulic assembly drawings and electrical wiring schematics.
• Proficiency with harness and control system schematics.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract.
• Bilingual in French and English.

Responsibilities

• Analyze system failures and determine the cause of the problem.
• Perform corrective actions to fix and prevent recurrence.
• Disassemble, reassemble, test, and troubleshoot MEMCO equipment at customer sites or facilities.
• Carry out scheduled tasks per supervisor instructions.
• Prepare technical reports, equipment audit presentations and cost estimates.
• Develop relationships with customer personnel and communicate updates to the service manager.
• Identify potential business opportunities and relay to MEMCO teams.
• Adhere to health and safety policies on mining and non-mining sites.
