Axiom Technologies in Chester Basin, NS, is seeking a capable Desktop Support Engineer to provide on-site end-user IT support. This independent contractor role requires immediate start and involves triaging tickets, resolving desktop and peripheral issues, and coordinating with the service delivery team to ensure timely service.

You will install and configure hardware, operate Windows environments, troubleshoot network LAN connectivity, and follow client security policies.

Qualifications

Experience supporting Windows desktops and peripherals.
Ability to diagnose and repair hardware problems.
Basic networking knowledge (LAN, switches, routers)
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Able to work independently on-site.
Willingness to coordinate with service delivery team.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.
Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
Perform basic network troubleshooting using console access when required.
Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.
Follow client IT policies and security procedures while performing on-site tasks.
