Job summary
GDI Ainsworth in Lethbridge is seeking a Controls Journeyman Electrician to join our growing automation team. As a Journeyman, you will be involved in installation, commissioning and servicing of commercial building automation systems. You will work on electrical equipment in compliance with codes, study plans, and support BAS solutions.

Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Clear spoken and written English communication.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving ability.
- Ambitious learner seeking career progression in building systems.
- Experience with low voltage electrical work.
- Experience with HVAC, building automation systems and VFDs is an asset.
- Experience with programming languages or IT infrastructure is an asset.
- Experience with PLCs is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret simple electrical sketches and diagrams.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in commercial/construction installations.
Responsibilities
- Installs and wires electrical systems and components in compliance with codes.
- Studies plans and work orders to determine installations.
- Repairs and maintains low voltage systems.
- Assist in delivering BAS solutions to customers.
- Assist with site commissioning and startup of Building Automation Systems.
- Handle testing tools and equipment safely.
- Work with health and safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to company policies and quality system requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
- Understand HVAC operations and digital control fundamentals.
- Collaborate with teams on building systems.
