Job summary

GDI Ainsworth in Lethbridge, AB is seeking an Indentured Electrical Apprentice (1st–3rd year) to join the BAS team on-site. You will work with a Journeyman to install building automation control systems in new and existing buildings, including retrofit projects, in a construction setting.

You will learn to read drawings, install conduits, pull low voltage cables and perform terminations while gaining hands-on experience with building systems integrations and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Indentured Electrical Apprentice in Alberta (1st-3rd year) with conduit experience.
• Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral.
• Commercial/Construction installations experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret floor drawings, circuit diagrams, shop drawings and electrical code specs to determine wiring layouts.
• Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and fittings.
• Pull low voltage controls and data cabling through conduits and spaces.
• Terminate low voltage wiring, panels, network and devices.
• Install, replace and repair electrical control equipment such as relays, sensors, actuators and panels.
• Commission new control systems through point-to-point verification with a lead technician.
• Identify issues through standard troubleshooting procedures.
• Adhere to all company policies and perform duties safely and compliantly.
