Job summary

GDI Ainsworth in Lethbridge, AB is seeking electrical apprentices (1st–3rd year) to join our BAS team. Work with a Journeyman installing building automation systems in new and retrofit projects, learning control equipment, low voltage wiring and commissioning.

Qualifications

Indentured Electrical Apprentice in Alberta (1st–3rd Year) with conduit experience.
Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology.
Excellent command of English (written and oral).
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to learn building automation and VFDs.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret floor drawings, circuit diagrams and specifications for wiring layouts.
Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and fittings.
Pull low voltage controls and data cabling through spaces.
Terminate low voltage wiring, panels, networks, and devices.
Install, replace and repair electrical control equipment.
Commission systems through verification and checks with a lead technician.
Troubleshoot relays, controls devices and low voltage circuits.
Follow safety policies and health/environmental regulations.
