Job summary

GDI Ainsworth in Lethbridge, AB is seeking electrical apprentices (1st–3rd year) to join our BAS team. Work with a Journeyman installing building automation systems in new and retrofit projects, learning control equipment, low voltage wiring and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Indentured Electrical Apprentice in Alberta (1st–3rd Year) with conduit experience.
• Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology.
• Excellent command of English (written and oral).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn building automation and VFDs.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret floor drawings, circuit diagrams and specifications for wiring layouts.
• Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and fittings.
• Pull low voltage controls and data cabling through spaces.
• Terminate low voltage wiring, panels, networks, and devices.
• Install, replace and repair electrical control equipment.
• Commission systems through verification and checks with a lead technician.
• Troubleshoot relays, controls devices and low voltage circuits.
• Follow safety policies and health/environmental regulations.
