Job summary

Industrial Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist to join their Construction Safety team in Belleville, ON. You will coach and influence safe work practices across contractors and project stakeholders, ensuring alignment with OHSA and project safety goals.

The role focuses on field safety governance, incident review, and prequalification activities, with on-site responsibilities and travel up to 20% as needed; Monday–Friday, 7am–5pm. Strong construction safety supervision required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety supervision on industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of OHSA, O. Reg 213/91, and related regulations.
• Experience with contractor prequalification and safety auditing.
• Able to work on-site 4 hours per day and travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching on safety best practices to strengthen construction safety management systems.
• Partner with general contractor(s) to evaluate procedures, identify high-risk activities and countermeasures.
• Audit job site safety controls against contractual expectations and verify alignment in the field.
• Ensure corrective actions and prevention of recurrence are implemented and sustained.
• Support governance through contractor safety prequalification, program auditing, and field execution verification.
